I am not sure about that at the moment, maybe you look into the wiring diagrams what to bridge
http://shark.armchair.mb.ca/~dave/BMW/e32/

That might help and at least you can eliminate one possible cause. If my memory is right
make a bridge from pin 30 to pin 87 in the socket of the relais.
This pic is from Gale from his 735

BE CAREFUL when doing this!
this eliminates also the lock system for the automatic gear. you can start the car in any gear!
So make sure the gear is in P and the handbrake is on!

Fuel pumps bridging from pin 87 to 30 according to Shayne's pic

CPS sensor testing is very difficult, you can check the Ohm but real testing can only be done with an osci tester.

The CPS will cause a no start, but can it also cause an engine to cut out periodically and or stall.

This I posted before, just for reference
The upper one at about 2 o'cock is the sensor for DME 1 (closest to the windshield).
The one at 4 o'clock is for DME 2.

So the plug for DME 1/MOTRONIC 1 goes into the right side connector, the other one to DME2.

Measuring:
disconnect both sensor harness connectors:
Coil resistance (approx.) @ 20 Degree C 540 +/- 10% Ohm
Air gap (sensor distance from toothed wheel 1.0 =/- 0.3 mm

Replacement on M70 engine of sensor # 2 (lower one)
whem all componets have been unbolted and carefully set aside, rotate crank pulley/vibration damper so that gap in toothed rim wheel aligns with sensor mounting bolt.
Remove bolt and sensor.
Remove power steering pump pulley.
Remove power steering pump mounting bracket and pump.

Tightening torque: 7 =/- 1 Nm

Regarding the cylinder identification sensor: maybe these pics help
