I have no idea if the snap-in connect's the car's external antenna to the Pearl. As far as I know, there is no external antenna plug on the Pearl, so if it has the ability to link to an external antenna, it would have to be inductive, like the RAZR. It does not really matter me though, as my Pearl gets great reception anywhere I have used it.
