It's really nice to have gotten such a response.
Even though I'll still be driving around in this deplorable excuse for a 7 series for -I don’t know how long. (until I can find a truck) Then I’ll cover it until I sell it or fix it.

Just wanted to apologize in advance, if anyone sees me on the road in NJ. It really is a sin to drive a 7 looking like you just fled the scene of a train wreck...
I’ll be the guy humbly in the right-most lane, hoping no one is looking. Well, I’m going to watch a movie and eat some rotisserie chicken.

Oh, I worked on my front driver’s side window regulator today. (Took some pics. I’ll save that for a future post.)
Since I’ll have to put some plastic on the right side rear door to keep out the elements...there was NO WAY I could have plastic on the driver’s side too. (My window’s been stuck open for about a week) Well it was a partial success. Got it working enough to get the window closed. But it looks like the motor is weak. So I'll have to do the job again if I keep the car.

Oh, also, turns out the guy at Firestone, WAY over-torqued my right rear wheel lug bolts. I need to take off the wheel in order to take a sledge to the quarter panel which is rubbing on my brand new Kumhos. This was the first time I couldn’t get them loose since I’ve owned the car.
So I bought a big ½ inch breaker bar and a deep 17mm socket from Sears last night. Gave it a go this morning. Got them all loose but the one with the wheel lock. All of the little wheel lock teeth things sheared off and disappeared leaving it almost smoothe inside. Nice. I couldn’t believe it. Here’s a pic.

So my idea was to JB-Weld the wheel lock key thing to the bolt.

I’ve left it alone all day cuz it takes 16 hours or so to set up. So we’ll see tomorrow. Man what perfect timing for something like this to happen.

-Steve
