As far as your spray glue idea... I guess great minds think alike because I had that exact idea when my 78 Olds’ headliner sagged. However, it was a terrible idea. It didn’t work at all, and then after spraying more glue, it soaked through the thin lower remnant of the headliner (the sagging material that has separated from the upper foam part) and turned all dirty looking. So then I was left with a dirty, soiled sagging headliner with a hole in it. And the hole didn’t stay tiny, it got bigger, and then, as I would drive, the loose bits of foam that used to be contained, now would rain down whenever the cabin was windy. I’d have to pick out the tiny foam specs from my hair.
So, I’m all for a ‘’less than perfect, but better than nothing’’ strong-arm approach, but that aint it. Hopefully we can think of something, though. There’s gotta be something better than thumbtacks. I was thinking, maybe buy a bunch of thumbtacks, and at least paint them the clor of the headliner, in my case sand beige. Then really plan out ahead of time the pattern. You really have to survey it and plan each one perfectly, or else there’s no way it wont look ‘’tacky’’. :)
