I found a solution for almost all the problems with the BMW Motorola factory installed gsm-phone, used in E38 and E39. Maybe you can post it on your site.

Problmens with BMW Motorola factory installed phone:
These problems vary from
- bad Handsfree audio quality to
- spontaneous switching off,
- not willing to switch on or of when the key is placed in position one.
- Only switching on for a few seconds then switch off again
- Keyboards not functioning anymore.

The cause of all these problems is corrosive soldering resulting in short-circuit on the RJ45 connector (female) placed on the circuit-board inside the black tray where the phone is placed in. Changing this RJ45 connector (for sale in standard electronics part store) and resoldering it on the PCB solves all these issues!

I had these problems myself and after a lot of testing and exchaging parts, i finally found the cause! And on the internet I couldn't this information anywhere!
