Subject: Re: 17' wheels someone?

I've been running 17" wheels for almost three years on my 1994 E32 740il. Tire size is 245/45-17 on all four. The wheels really look nice. Sorry no photo. But the sacrifice is in the ride and stability. Front-end shake at 50 mph is predominate and is very difficult to eliminate, usually by replacing the lower control arm bushings. Initially thought it was cheap wheels so I bought a different set and same results. Using the 750 bushing as I'm told its tougher. Once I get the stability dialed in at 50 mph with new bushings, there's still some unstability while braking. Replaced rotors to no avail. Using stock suspension and it maybe original. I have 222,000 miles on it and I'm hesitant to drop money into it because the tranny is on the edge (maybe another 5000 miles). The wheels are hubcentric but for a larger hub diameter so I use hub inserts. I have the sense that the wheel size and tire width combined are just too much for the suspension. I'm considering slapping on the original BMW honeycomb 15" wheels just to get rid of the fight. Any other tricks worth considering?
