First of all X20 and X21 have 29 pins (diagnosis box 20), and what is most important, the center pin of X20 and X21 is different from the diagnosis box.

Brian, are you really sure you could insert the Peake in the wrong one? Not to blaim or something, but that is important for the repair of your car to know!!!!
The Peake only fits into the diagnosis box, and it even cannot be inserted the wrong way, that design is bullet-proof.
Try to remember what really happened. Maybe there is no damage to your MOTRONIC's at all, but something else.
It is not only the pacman but also that little cutout which only fits in the diagnosis box

Remember, just to help you, not to blaim or so.
Because if you actually could not put the Peake into X, then something else happened, or you forced it into the socket.
Whatever happened, better you find that out.
