Subject: Re: More on removing Window Regulator

Brian's (http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/77425) and cyberdactyl's (http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/353055/) instructions were great. I just replaced the rear window regulator on my 2000 750iL without any problem.
My lessons learned:

1) I couldn't find a E12 Torx socket and closed end wrench. Turns out, a standard 3/8 socket and wrench work fine for getting the top two srews out of the window regulator.

2) My window was stuck about an inch from the top. I cut the cable near the bottom where it was easy to get to. That let me manualy push the window up but it still wouldn't go down all the way. I had to cut the cable above the point it fastens to the window in order to get the window down. (The cable was jammed at the gearbox.) That was difficult to do because of the poor visual access. I used a good large wire cutter to do the job. I wedge a screw driver behind the cable with the window all the way up. That got the cable out where I could get the cutter on it.

3) The electrical connection to the light at the bottom of the door can be easily disconnected by first prying the light out from the outside and then just pull it out and unplugging it.

(I had pictures, but I'm not computer savy enough to know how to load them here.)
