Subject: I'd try a few things before putting an amp in

1. Make sure you are adjusting the volume while in a call. I've found it pretty obvious that the volume is changing when the +/- button is hit a few times.

2. Activate the voice reco system, and say "Volume Up" a few times to max out the volume -- you should be able to see the volume level graph in the MID.

3. See if your Pearl has a Bluetooth-specific volume setting. Maybe a board that focuses more on the Pearl would give you guidance if a problem is Pearl-specific.

The DSP is notoriously tricky to use with non-OEM or non-DSP-purposed parts, so I would only install an amplifier as a last resort.

My E38 with DSP has paired with an older Blackberry, a RAZR V3, a RAZR V3i, and a Treo 650. In all cases the system worked flawlessly each time, with no volume adjustment needed.

Do you have a friend who has Bluetooth in their car? Maybe you could pair your Pearl to that car to test it. Maybe someone on the board is near you -- where are you?

-pd.
