I would not go to the Alltel version of the OS as it mucks up a lot of the Verizon stuff. I "backdated" my Verizon flash on my Razr and can do all the things you mention. What version is your phone running? Goto Tools -> System -> Device Info -> Other Information -> S/w Version. I've got GATW_01.0F.02, and bluetooth obex is enabled. They quickly moved to ver 03, which is where most of the crippling was applied.

I can help you reflash if you decide to go that route.
