Brian - just a quick follow-up on this topic. After a major address book cleanup and a slow re-introduction of addresses back into my phone, I was able to get the BB to push addresses to the BMW (~400 contacts with multiple phone numbers each). This works ok with 2 exceptions:

1. Seems to take ~40-90 sec to work (not sure why the times vary). This was faster than the old BB for large address lists, but still pretty slow. I wish there was a way for the BMW to remember the address list and update it (synch) periodically when things change.

2. I notice that sometimes the BMW I the startup phase will drop the address list entirely and then re-acquire it very quickly. Not sure if that is a glitch in the address book causing it to restart (but it seems to recover) or if its something else going on.

In general I find this to be useful when I am going to be in the car for a while (e.g. > 1 hour) but for short trips where I want my phone to work quickly (e.g. within 20 sec of startup) this just takes too long and I am better off dialing off the phone (disabling phone book transfer).

I think BMW (and RIM) has a ways to go to make this phone pairing work properly, but at least they are making progress.

Anyway, just wanted to update you on my progress. Thanks for your help earlier.
