contain the grit you want to remove the scratches in the clear coat on the console. Go to an automotive supply store and tell them you want a rubbing compound to remove scratches....comes in several consistencies...light , medium and aggressive. Once scratches gone buff with "machine glaze" or a light rubbing compound...then ZYMOL or some kind of wax...I would use a synthetic wax ..like any polymer.
