I am buying a e24... For the looks I prefer 1st series, but cause of the engine and general technical efficiency, I would like the 2nd series better...

Yesterday I was looking at 630 1st series e24... and was wandering, if I could just swap the entire engine, tranny, LSD setup with 635 of 2nd generation, or maybe even better, from e34 535i...

As I understand... the m30 in e34 535i is like bulletproof with great fuel economy...

So, are these engine swaps straight or are there heavy mods needed ? Engine mounts different or engine components in a wrong place ?

If you have some links of these transplants (especially e34 3.5l into e24) please send me links...
