Fuel, compression, or ignition.
Unfortunately this means many things so lets attempt to rule some out.
Pull the fuel pump relay and jump it:

I realize yours is positioned differently but the pins are the same. Do not attempt to start the engine like this.
The fuel pump should run. It should not only be audible at the tank but you should hear the fuel at the engine and the FPR's.
If not the pump or the connections at the pump are suspect.
If you can hear the pump and fuel leave the jumper in place for about 1 minute. Replace the fuel pump relay and attempt to start the car.
If it starts you probably had water in the fuel. Add Heet or...?
If the fuel pump makes noise but it sounds very 'gurggly' at the engine you are low on fuel and need to add fuel.
If it sounded good at the tank and under the hood then you can rule out the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay. So now we can consider poor compression, too much air, or no spark.
How did the engine run before it quit? If it ran smoothly we can rule out compression and unmetered air but check the intake boot anyway to see if it is loose or has a big crack.
If you have EML (motorized throttle) this may cause a no start situation. Remove the intake boot and watch the throttle plate when you have someone attempt to start the engine.
A typical failure item is the CPS. Since this is neither cheap nor easy have them tested. I can't remember which one needs to function at start-up on the M60.
If it ran poorly try some Ether (starting fluid) to see if that gives it enough oomph to start. You need to have a compression test and a leakdown test performed as well as check the PCV system.

I don't know the same things that you don't know.
