Each tank of fuel can be susceptible to water contamination or condensation. It is dependant on ambient conditions compared to tank conditions. IE driving from a warm area to a cold area. Having less than half a tank of fuel when the temperature drops. A trip where you started with a full tank and when you parked ambient temperature was close to freezing and the car was allowed to cool... the gas station you fueled at may have had a low level in the storage tank when weather changed or had heavy rain or melting snow that got into the the storage tank... they may even purchase contaminated fuel at a reduced rate.
Always start with the easy stuff and rule it out before moving on. Add a moisture sequestering agent and fuel. Listen for the fuel pump while someone is cranking the engine.
Main relay usually gives warnings like a 'trans prog' message and the fuel pump relay can be replaced with any orange relay under your hood.
That being said it is a very good idea to replace the fuel pump and main relays.
