Mine freezes all of the time. You may want to spray some paint friendly de-icer in the upper left hand corner of the gas door (generous amount). Let the de-icer work for about 2 minutes, then find the quick release in the trunk. On the right side of the car, you will find a release for the lock. You have to squeeze your hand through the tiny space between a support and the fender (where the amp is located, only the opposite side). You should feel a small metal bar in the shape of an s-curve, only with 90 degree bends. There is a small plastic handle on it; just pull back. You may need to give it a good tug, that's why I recommend the de-icer. The release is approx. 12 inches in.
