I have to do a 60K service this Monday coming up at my independent BMW shop. I have Wagner brake pads that have sat in my basement for a year, but the last time I brought the car in they said my brake pads were fine and it's alot of money in labor for nothing. They suggested waiting till my pads were shot before having them put them on. I'm not going to do the work myself so that's not an option. Would you chuck out perfectly good pads to do the less dusty pads or just wait till they're shot?

Also, anything else you can think of doing while a car is at the shop for the 60K? My sunroof seal is shot as the SR is chattering like a MF'er. They said they don't do this work but referred me to another place next to them that does sunroofs. I need a bulb replaced in my dash where it's hard to see the odometer and the temperature. Other than that, I don't really want to replace the radiator as it's fine... now. I know it's a ticking time bomb as it's probably never been replace, but ... it's fine, now.
