Since the handles were already off and they were looking pretty worn and scratched, it seemed like the right thing to do. They look new again.


A closeup of the passenger-side rear door handle. It and the other three handles were extensively scratched and dull. The stationary parts of the handles were painted off of the car.


The handles were wet-sanded with 2,000-grit sandpaper before cleaning and painting.


Masking off the car in preparation for painting the lifter parts of the handles, which remained on the car.


Spray painting with Duplicolor Black Trim Paint. The Duplicolor paint seems to match the color and finish of the rest of the car pretty well.


The finished product, with new rubber seal and freshly painted metal handles. What a difference!
