obviously sanded in some areas, parts of the leather had been sanded completely smooth, and there were a few cracks, though they weren't severe. The real reason I went with new leather was because I managed to find it for only $15 on ebay. I guess brown leather seats aren't that popular, so it was cheap. The new leather was practically brand new -- I couldn't find *any* signs of wear on it at all, so re-dying it was a better choice than trying to repair the original leather.
