Subject: 700p works??

I have both a Treo 700p and 650 with Verizon. I have the 522 (6th generation) Visteon ULF module retrofit into a 2004 330i (9/2003 build date ). I had to remove the Assist module to retrofit the Visteon ULF.

The 650 pairs with the 522 but does not download the favorites numbers. While in the Phonebook application I can use the "Send" command and choose Bluetooth to send a category of contacts to the ULF. The ULF has to be in pairing mode for this to work (which is annoying). This phone list is then available via the steering wheel buttons for few days, then the ULF appears to forget the contacts and I have to go through the trouble of sending them again. Even when the contacts are forgotten the phone still can be used with the internal ULF voice dial functions and will accept calls and send them to ULF to be broadcast over the stereo.

The 700p doesn't work at all for me. It won't send any contacts to the ULF. It will pair with the ULF but it will not correctly send or receive audio from the ULF. For example if I manually initiate the call from the 700p, the phone acts like it's connecting to the ULF but no sound comes over the stereo. The BMW sometimes goes into phone mode, sometimes not, and sometimes even hangs up in "Phone" mode for hours (with no FM/AM/CD functions available).

Do others really have the Treo 700p working with the retrofit Visteon modules? Which ULF part numbers and what wireless carrier? Maybe this is a Verizon firmware problem (argh!)?
