Subject: Fitting 16:9 monitor in RHD E38

Others have managed to do this successfully. Here I have posted some photos of what I did.

The air con ducting fouls the left side of the tape housing on the Monitor. I put some cream onto the tape housing and here is a photo of where it touches the AC duct.

After cutting a hole in the duct and fitting the monitor and adjusting the hole many times here is what ended up working. A photo from the front showing how much depth into the duct is required for thr Tape housing.

From the inside of the monitor cavity showing the size of the cutout required. The hole straddles a seam in the duct where one piece joins another. The seam has got to go.

After duct taping over hole and leaving plenty of slack in the tape so it can form around the tape housing and into the duct, the fitted monitor. The frame is from an E39 so doesn't hide the screws behind perfectly but is good enough until I find one for an E38.

Hope this helps someone else.
