Fixed...here's how.....

I separated the black plastic housing carefully (figured what have I got to lose?). Well it didnt take long to figure out the problem. There are two upper plastic guides that center the latch as you insert it into the receiver, and one had broken off, fallen into the receiver, and jammed the red button from pushing down. With the cover off, I was able to manually unlatch it by pushing on the lever under the button. Anyway... I took out the broken plastic pieces, and superglued the housing back together. Done deal..works great. You cant tell the guides are not there unless you look real hard, and functionality seem no different when comparing it to the passengers side.

sounded almost like your write-up:

Seatbelt latch stuck...HELP...

Stuck my wife in the car, and she had to crawl out of the belt to get out. Pushing on the red button will not unlatch the belt. The red button will not push all the way in. Any suggestions how to get this unstuck?
