Subject: The Evap Temp Sensor is under the cowl>

Does that mean its under the blower cowling near the compressor relay? Yes. You gotta take off the cowl, then pull the some wiring from the fan area as the sensor is underneath stuff between the two fan cages, in front of the motor. Two 8mm bolts, I think hold it in place. Down pretty deep. If you think you can reach the tranny you are about deep enough. Really not to bad once you know where it is buried.

This device controls the compressor, turning it off when the evap is cold enough to freeze up. Mine broke and did not allow the compressor to come on at all. I went without it until I got one from a junkyard. Used a jumper and turned the a/c off occasionally to allow the ice to melt off the evaporator.
