what a great time! we spent all morning helping each other out. Everyone was great. my only regret was forgetting to take my camera. anyway, for the benefit of everyone here on bimmerboard, here are some of my personal highlights:

* Got to touch the infamous TXDARTH! Man, that is one beautifully maintained machine!

* Got some sage advice about life from Maje.

* Met Bill S., who i found out lives less than a mile from me and has a 97 also! "Can I go to Bill's house and play?"

* Had the good fortune to have Collison944 and Lurcher there to inspect my suspension. I was thinking they were gonna tell me to clean it all up and sell it. Turns out all i need is traction struts on the front and 1 rear ball joint. Collison944 even showed me how to use a large pair of channel locks to check the front ball joints. Plus he told me what to consider when I get around to doing shocks.

* Helped JohnG replace his traction struts. which was fantastic first-hand practice since i need to do mine. this alone was worth gold. way, way easier than i thought. This is gonna be my next DIY. And thanks to Lurcher's advice, gonna get the Neiko tool that makes the job a snap.

* Had great fun trading stories with Riechter and others about storing bodies in trunk instead of golf bags.

* Was it REALLY Josh's & Martin's birthday at Bone Daddys?

* MAJOR MAJOR KUDOS to Nino and Euro Connection for letting us hang out at his shop, use his tools and pick his brain. >>

* JL: nice job dude.

and to all the rest of the gang that was there, i'm glad i got to see you all again or meet you for the first time. Definately time well spent. someday my 7 will look as sharp as yours does.

PS, i think the secret is sugar and caffeine. Between all the KrispyKremes and approx 50 cups of coffee, collectively we probably could have rebuilt a complete E38 in that 4 hours.... :-))))
