My wrench discouraged the compressed air approach because he thought it might burst the tube or dislodge it from its fitting. But that's partly because his compressor is a high-psi machine -- a lower-pressure system might just do the trick.

I removed one of the C-pillar covers and took a look at the tube. It seems quite sturdy -- more like PVC pipe than surgical tubing or a garden hose. Short of buying my own compressor, do you know where I might gain access to few nozzle-bursts of low-psi compressed air?
