I too have the pearl and it works fine with the car only when I disable addressbook download. I've checked all my numbers and they are all 10 digits with no spaces or special characters. I do have several contacts that have emails addresses and a couple that are email only (no phone number) contacts. I also have a coulpe of groups that I set up.
