Here is an online WDS for the X5. The wires that matter for your debugging are probably the same, so this should work for you. Also, the #1 thing that I would confirm is whether you are sending a switched +12V signal to the nav computer (pin 3 in kiwijochen's post below). If that input is always on, then the nav would never turn off.
