That's actually how it all started... I initially dignosed a bad center support, ordered a new one and was in the process of putting it in when I noticed that the front u-joint was seized on one axis. I proceeded to replace the support, hoping that the binding wouldn't much matter... BIG mistake! The car wasn't even driveable because the vibration was so bad and I didn't want to risk damage to the tailhousing of the transmission. That old torn up center support was actually taking up alot of the vibration, I only felt a mild shake at 20 mph and was smooth from there on up. I took it as a lesson learned and have suggested to anyone with a similar situation not to try to take the cheap way out... in all likelihood, that front u-joint is bad too. Not always, mind you... but often enough to keep it in mind.
