Coolant will typically only build to 16 to 18 psi at 200 degrees F. However, if the engine overheats the pressure inside the cooling system could reach as high as 28 psi. Most High Performance radiators can withstand only 22 to 24 psi, and professional racing radiators will accept 29 to 31 psi. So yeah, 120 seems a little high to me. Good news: if THAT didnt make your head gasket leak, you should be a-ok.
