Wish this had been posted a few weeks ago. I was having the same type of electrical problems, "radio not working, brake lights staying on, steering wheel adjusting itself, trans failsafe program warning". All of this would happen while driving. To fix it I would have to shut off the engine and restart the car and it would reset itself. Took it to the dealerand it ended up costing me a little over $500.00. $280.00 to analyze it, around another $200 in labor and $36 for the part. 2000 740il with 110,000 miles.
