Subject: Unfortunately we don't have yards around here...

land is too expensive. Plus, most of the ones nearby don't let you root around in the cars anymore anyway, so I'd imagine your escalating liability insurance costs lead to increased used parts prices.

I hope your message isn't directed at me, as I have never contacted you for new or used parts prices, but I did visit the website.
Used parts are typically priced about 50% of the new parts price (for us east coast boys), IF you can GET the new part for the old crap we cheapstakes drive!

You can charge whatever you want for parts (BMP and BavAuto don't seem to have trouble selling parts or sleeping at night), but for owners on a forum that are attempting to learn more about their cars to be able to service them by themselves, you are correct - price and service matter.

Please continue to post here - I'm sure you've helped numerous owners with advice and parts. I'm certainly not a presence here for you to be concerned about. But - I've known Steve for over 20 years, and am still satisfied enough to recommend him, even if I have to leave a message, or my e-mail isn't answered within 2 hours.
