Finding a car with the Certified Pre Owned warranty would be the way to go. Once a BMW is CPO, the warranty stays with the car. This means it can be bought and sold and the 5 yr 100k warranty goes with the car regardless of who it was purchased from.
A dealer can run the VIN to verify if its CPO.
It sure gives some peace of mind.
