A relative few stations have the non-oxy gas, and I accidently let the tank go down to fumes. I decided to top it off, & run another experiment since my tank was essentially empty. My results were actually worse than other attempts- it went to 93% when it usually drops to only 95%.

I haven't looked at that study yet, but I'm not sure how they'd get around basic physics. To move a given mass at a given rate requires X amount of energy. It shouldn't matter if that energy comes from gas, ethanol, nuclear, solar, or what ever, it needs that amount of energy. So then the question becomes which method produces that amount of energy most efficently.

I just got my copy of Car & Driver. They have a decent article on the subject this month. It's pretty fair handed, but non-technical.
