Some more info:
The pins 51 and 54 or 64 and 63 (dependant on the MOTRONIC part number as mentioned before) of the DME/ECU are connected to ground by the transmission control module only when the pressure for the clutch is in line with the pre-given values. ONLY then the engine gets full power from the ECU. This is a protection for the clutches of the trans gears to avoid unnecessary wear. Only when the gears are fully in operation, the RPM as well as the power from the engine can be transmitted to the transmission.

Die Pins der DME 51 und 54 oder 64 und 63 bei DME 352 werden vom Getriebesteuergerlät auf Masse gezogen, wenn der Druck für die Kupplungen IO sind, erst dann kann die DME volle Leistung am Motor bringen. Das ist ein Schutz, für die einzelnen Kupplungen der Gänge damit die nicht unnötig verschleissen. Erst wenn die Gänge voll durchgeschaltet sind, darf die Drehzahl und Kraft an das Getriebe weiter gegeben werden.

As you have no automatic transmission now, this has to be 'bridged somehow, as I mentioned in the posting before. The ECU must get a signal so that it 'thinks/believes' the auto trans has fully engaged.
