OK, now the rears.
The grates pull up from the back, not the front.
Stubby screwdrivers are your friend:

and unscrew, again stubby is good:

Now for the goofy part that probably won't apply to you. The hot lead from the battery in my dash was DEAD!, which probably means there was nothing wriong with my old Panasonic HU, but oh well. thanks to the PO I have a little wiring under the hood that gave me an idea.

This is the P.O's hotwire for the Aux fan becuase they did NO research on these cars and when the fan clutch went, they replaced the radiator, pulled the heater valve and finally ran a switch to the aux fan to turn on to keep the car from overheating. Changing hte fan clutch took me 20 mins., oh well.
Here is their wiring:

yuck.
I had a fused line I pulled from the 540i and used it here, running it through the steering hole in the firewall, and up to the HU space:

then with the next under steering wheel part removed:

tada!

Ok, Detour is over, now get more coffee

Look at your Beautiful M70 (if your luckey enough to have one)

Now replace front speakers becuase your back hurts from sitting in the car:
Fronts
old, vs new. actually the old ones looked pretty good.

This part was a dream. I can;t speak to all 5 1/4s but these bad boys just dropped right in place

cool:

If you have a Toyta Supra you will want to use the included Sony grills:

Now to wire.
I again ran both rears down the passenger side you can get to the rear deck speaker holes through the trunk, remove the trunk lining, there is a triangle hole under each rear speaker.

The wires can be put through the firewall above the battery where the Analog phone wire was run:

again the speaker just drop in perfectly.

Run the wires up to the glovebox. Open the glove box an dpull it towards you.

you can get to the HU area from above the glovebox:

Here is a wire under the steering column that I managed to get a giant spark out of when wiring the drivers kick panel. I think it's for the dumbass alarm...

nice.

anyway thats it.
install your Stereo and enjoy!
