The M73 never made it to UK soil. The 850Ci was officially dicontinued in the UK when the M70 V12 ended in 1994 so this makes mine one of the last (1008 out of 1046 RHD models produced worldwide - thank you Jud). Thereafter the 840Ci and the 850CSi were the only 8's us brits could buy.

A good 850 is near impossible to find in the UK. The only ones that appear to be for sale are either very tired or have a lengthy list of repairs to be done. The unusual spec on mine included AKH 4 wheel steering(a 4k option) and sports interior. I retrofitted the original 8 series electric sunblind which I managed to get hold of for around £50 from a breaker. The original loom cost another £25 from BMW.
