Dave Clement always says he loves that there are many more luxury benefits and options on his 750s. "The power, torque and smoothness are wonderful. Most of the problems that everyone is talking about can happen on all E38's."

Yes, some maintenance items will cost a bit more, as you need more plugs, two batteries, etc. But most 750 owners say they would not shy away from the V12 because of maintenance costs.

A couple thoughts, though I have never owned a V12 BMW so this is just what I have read on the boards…

The Nikasil problem was on the V8 engines only, from 1992 through 1995, (only 1995 for the E38) and never on the V12s. Radiators don't seem to be as problematic on the V12s either.

V12s don't hold their value the same as the V8s, which is nice if you're looking to buy and not so much if you are looking to sell.

The break resistant windows on the 750 can delaminate and are very costly to replace. $2400 for all four?

Gas mileage has been reported in the mid to upper teens on the 750, and closer to 20 on the 740.

Some others with personal experience can hopefully give you some better information. Good luck!
