So a question a long time after this post was 'posted'. :-)
I have a 2000 740iL and my software setting is SW 2-1/30. So I am guessing mine is really old as the numbers you started with for v16 is 1/60. Is there anything special in burning the CD? I ISO'd the IMAGE.img file (did nothing with the other 3 files unless the app used them to make the ISO, but I have tried 2 burning apps including CloneCD and nothing happens when I insert it into the Nav CD player. Am I missing something? It sounds like a CD player does when it can't read a CD. Like it doesn't know what to do with it. Much like older CD players used to do when using a burned CD. I have even made sure the disc was 'finalized' so that it could be used in 'any' CD player.
