from 15°to 120°F use 20W-50
from -5° to 105°F use 15W-50
from -5° to 85°F use 15W-40
from -20° to 55°F use 10W-40 Yes this is correct, if you do not live in Canada your engine should only see 10W-40 in the dead of a Nebraska winter!!!

The choice of using a synthetic is up to you. It costs more, needs less frequent changes and lubricates better, but still if you do not live in a very cold climatic region use the 50 wt oils. This engine was designed for a heavier oil than the newer cars.

As for Auto tranny, Dexron formulations are correct. The current Dexron III is the one and it is also the one for the power steering hydraulic system.
