1) Your LKM is fine
2) Straight forward splice. Brown to ground colour to positive.
3) Again, brown to ground. Power from your choice. I took it from switched power at the fuse box so they are on when the car is on but splicing into the bumper lights is fine. No resistor required as they are not LED, just a wedge type lamp.
You have many choices. LED with a built in resistor in many colours including white, halogen from 5 Watts to 24 Watts but I don't recomend going over 10W...
Typical wedge type lamps are as follows:
161: 2 Watts
168: 4 Watts
194: 3 Watts
2825: 5 Watts

I used 2040 (AKA H2040, 19280), an 8 watt halogen bulb.
