Subject: E32 Blinkers-Hazards

I have a 1988 735I and the blinkers/hazard lights will work for awhile, usually in the morning when the car is cold and stop after about 1/2 hour of driving. They will start working then quit after whatever is causing this problem cools down then warms up again.

I have replaced the Mustard relay and the LKM and nothing has fixed the problem. I have checked and soldered the 2 LKMs and the 2 Mustard relays, and they seam to be in fine working condition. I looked all over and through the owners manual and the internet to see if there is a separate relay for the flasher, and found nothing.

I was hoping you might have an idea what might be causing this or know of a way that I can rule out certain parts. The problem might be in the turn signal switch, but once again it affects the hazards also.

I got the car for free because it needed a transmission and now have about a grand in it. I think it is a nice looking car, and sometimes I like it more than my 1996 740IL. Whatever info you have will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Ray
