Sure. I looked at it for quite a while to determine the easiest way to make a PERMANENT fix.

There are two little plastic arms that have little protrusions on their rearward ends (which were broken off). These protrusions are forced out by the trangular protrusions on the stationary portion when the unit is first assembled. These then snap back over the protrusions, and are meant keep the holder from ever extending beyond it's normal open position. Unfortunately, it is a very small cross section plastic, and if someone puts a too large cup into the holder, or pulls on it, the force can snap the little protrusions off. An extremely weak design in an otherwise very nice unit. I removed the remaining plastic of the arms and replaced them with the wires. Not gonna break those!
