Subject: Rearview Camera Installation (Part 2)

A portion of the front of the
camera will be removed so that it can be flush mounted

The rear bumper trim comes
off with a simple, firm pull UP.  Amazing how much dirt is caught behind
the trim panel

This nifty Dremel accessory
will be used as a small, but very powerful saw

This hole is already
perfectly centered on the car. There WAS a rivet here, until I removed it. I
will widen this hole to install the camera

Hole widened....now to clean
it up

Another Dremel accessory,
perfect for cleaning up the above hole

Camera fits perfectly....

Trim panel has been moved
into the house for modification

There's a hole in the trim
panel that's already perfectly centered. I will use this as a guide for drilling
the camera hole

If you've never used them,
DeWalt drill bits are the ABSOLUTE BEST

This bit is nearly perfectly
matched to the size of the hole to be drilled

After deburring the hole with
yet another Dremel attachment, the camera is test fitted

Looks good if I say so myself

Camera mounted, now....on to
the wiring

Composite Video out from
camera

Composite RCA connected to
extension cable

Heatshrink installed over
connection to prevent loose connections and water entry

(+)12V input to camera

Both connections covered and
sealed by heat shrink

Extending the camera's power
wires

More heatshrink

Completed extending the wires

CHECK BACK AGAIN LATER
TONIGHT !!!
