Hi Glen,
I am no expert for your model. But we have similar problems on the E34 and E32. There are breklight warnings and other things.
In our cars it usually helps to resolder the socalled musrad relay which is in charge for these and the light control module (LKM).
I assume that also your modules and relays might have cold solderings which cause these messages.
Have a look at my website on the link to Bruno's E34 page or this link, which explains the problem and how to solve it.
If you are not good at soldering electronics, bring it to for example a radio/TV repair shop, they can do that very quickly. The cold solderings are sometimes difficult to detect.
