I'm in the same camp as Kevin (who posted below). I used the "coat hanger" trick on my 735iL passenger side headrest back in 2000 and have not had a problem since. But on the seat twist...you have to cut and shorten the outer sheathing (which I had to do last year on the 735iL's driver side front seat back. (yep I finally got the seat back twist).

Just wanted to let you know (David) that your write up and pics is appreciated and a great addition to Don Gale's and I think Bruno's e34 website write ups which have been the "bible" for many e34 and e32 owners for this fix.
